In addition to managing our practice as chief financial officer and being an active member of our investment committee, the role that Kellie always puts first is serving our clients as a trusted financial advisor. “My goal is to assist clients with navigating through different strategies to achieve their goals, be financial or nonfinancial.”

Kellie is a people person and truly enjoys getting to know our clients and becoming part of their lives. “I view each client as a friend and find great enjoyment in learning all about them,” Kellie says.

Kellie’s strong educational background and financial experience enable her to offer prudent advice on a wide range of important financial matters – from planning for retirement to selling a business to buying rental property.

Kellie uses her experience as a Certified Public Accountant to effectively communicate with our client’s CPAs about complicated tax matters, while also informing and educating our clients about the issues at hand. She is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ and holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and California life, accident, and health insurance licenses (#0N08511).

Kellie joined Owens Estate & Wealth Strategies Group in 2018 and enjoys both working and living in a kind and beautiful community such as Nevada County.

Previously in her career, Kellie worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Francisco, where she was part of the industry tax practice group focused on federal corporate taxation for multibillion-dollar corporations. She coordinated her efforts with specialty groups in transfer pricing, international taxation, state and local taxation, and mergers and acquisitions to serve clients across the globe.

She is a graduate of California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in accounting, and a Master of Science in accounting with a specialization in taxation.

Kellie was born and raised in San Luis Obispo and now lives in Penn Valley, California with her husband, Jonny, their son, Cooper and their black lab, Ryder. In her free time, she enjoys camping, traveling to new and familiar places, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.
