As Partner, COO, and Director of Technology at Owens Estate & Wealth Strategies Group, Matt wears many hats. He leads all aspects of branch and satellite office technology, ensuring seamless operations through strategic planning, infrastructure management, and top-tier security practices. Matt is the driving force behind the design and deployment of our research, tracking, and analytical tools that directly support the investment committee’s decision-making processes.
Beyond his tech leadership, Matt plays a key role in areas spanning video production, social media strategy, and human resources—bringing a methodical, high-expectations mindset to every endeavor. Matt also serves as a key backup to the firm’s trading operations. “Each day is different, and that’s what I love. I’m committed to excellence and thrive on building systems that make us better,” he says.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from California State University, Chico. He joined Owens Estate and Wealth in 2013, returning from the Bay Area to take on a leadership role in the Nevada County community he and his wife, Robin, have deep roots in. “This is home, and I couldn’t imagine doing this anywhere else,” he reflects.
Matt and Robin are fifth-generation Nevada County residents and proud parents of Jack and Julia. They live in Grass Valley, where Matt enjoys disc golfing at Condon Park, riding motorcycle trails, mountain biking, and training their golden retriever, Captain.
